Tertiary engineering scholarships: apply now!

Tertiary engineering scholarships: apply now!

Open to engineering students from Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast.

Eastland Group specialises in regional infrastructure. Our operations include Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport and Eastland Network, along with Eastland Generation, which produces electricity from hydro diesel and geothermal plants. We’re also actively exploring the opportunities offered by emerging technologies in the energy space, and have launched New Zealand’s first community-focused energy hub: Electric Village.

Our sole shareholder is Eastland Community Trust, and we return millions of dollars to them each year for the ultimate benefit of the local community.

We employ a number of engineers across our business sectors. Providing scholarships to local engineering students is one of the ways in which we support our region and the young stars of the future.

$5,000 annual scholarships

Each year, we award $5,000 annual scholarships to several students. If you receive a scholarship, pass your exams, and reapply each year, we aim to continue supporting you throughout your studies. This means the total scholarship could be worth as much as $20,000 over a four year degree.

It may also include the opportunity to have paid holiday work during the summer at one or more Eastland Group businesses.

Is this you?

To be eligible for an Eastland Group engineering scholarship, you’ll be:

• A tertiary student in your first, second or third year of study, or a school leaver starting university next year.

• Studying civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical or process engineering.

• From Gisborne, Wairoa or the East Coast.

• A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand.
