Inner Harbour Marina safety and environment

If you’re using the Inner Harbour Marina, we want you to stay safe and enjoy your time here.

In New Zealand, the number to call if you need fire, police or ambulance in an emergency is 111.

When a vessel enters the marina it immediately comes under the jurisdiction of Marina Management and must comply with Eastland Port’s harbour regulations and directions.

To ensure your safety, please familiarise yourself with the Marina Rules.

Permanent risks include:

Natural disasters – earthquake, flood and tsunami
Fire on board a vessel
Vessel collision from mechanical or equipment failure
Vehicles / traffic
Unauthorised swimming in the marina
Unauthorised people in the marina
Extreme infra gravity swell
Movement from tidal action
Pinch points
Inadequate lighting

Chemicals and hazardous substances
Falling overboard
Damaged piers
Pier rubbers snapping
Tripping hazards and slippery surfaces
Oil spill
Electrocution from power leads
Access to and egress from piers
Excessive speed
Radiation/sunburn
