This is a unique, first-time-ever-in-Gisborne event, and you and your family are all invited.
Come along to Flywheels and you can cycle, skate, rollerblade, scooter or walk right around the Gisborne Airport runway! (After the last flight of the day has landed, of course.)
It’s an incredible opportunity to get out onto the tarmac and experience our region’s airport from a pilot’s point of view.
There’ll be prizes for best fancy dress costumes, spot prizes, food trucks, free bike checks from Bikeys, a special guest appearance by the Wa165 steam train, entertainment from More FM, and a sky high lolly scramble.
Check in at Gisborne airport from 5.30pm. Entry is a voluntary gold coin donation. Plenty of free parking will be provided.
UPDATE 14 February: Steam train tickets are now SOLD OUT. Everyone with train tickets can bring a scooter, skateboard or rollerblades on board (no bikes, sorry). Everyone else – come straight to the airport.
